WHO I AM

I’ve had an interest in Photography since learning about the art form as a child.  I grew up loving nature, wild animals and the wonders of the natural world as seen through the eyes of the National Geographic Photographers. The Great Outdoors is my spiritual connection with the universe and the inspiration behind my work. As my dental career matured I was finally able to realize my interest in photography and start to take it beyond “snaps”.  When I retired from Dentistry I was able to devote more time and energy towards photography. I started my photographic journey in 2004 and it’s been an amazing experience.

I have learned through workshops, mentors, classes and online educational sites.  I’ve been a member of the Redlands Camera Club and through them was able to join S4C an affiliate of PSA(Photography Society of America). Through these and other organizations I have received many awards in juried contests ranging from Honorable Mention to Best of Show.

I recently moved back to the NW and am enjoying seeing my native state through the eyes of a photographer and the camera. I‘m currently a member of Cascade Camera club and Bend Photography Group.

QUOTE

"....it still boils down to your impression, your curiosity, what it is that piques your interest. That varies from photographer to photographer. From that, you apply your set of skills and your style artistically — so you’re doing both journalism and art at the same time. That’s the most successful type of photography."
